2010 reds have been blended and bottled

We bottled the 2010 reds on June 7, 2011 - that would be about 13-14 months in oak on average. For this vintage we've settled on three different blends; like last year, we're doing a straight Cabernet Sauvignon, and a Merlot-Malbec blend, but in addition we've bottled a small run (less than 500 bottles) of straight Malbec - very much a "Limited Edition"! Many people coming through the tasting room had asked about the possibility, and the Malbec was tasting very nice on its own, so we thought we'd give it a shot...:) We'll have to see what our customers think after it's released, and then decide whether we want to do the same again for the 2011 vintage.

The photo shows the scariest part of the process, receiving all the wine into storage here on the vineyard. All right, bungie jumping is a rush, but if you really want to feel your heart leap into your throat and stay there, try watching 70 cases at a time of 2 years hard work swaying in the wind while dangling from a large crane. Not for the faint of heart...
