Description

Made in classic Méthode Traditionelle style, this is a rare 100% Waiheke grown, bottle fermented sparkling wine. Can truly be described as a unique and unusual product!

Awarded 4½ out of 5 stars by Michael Cooper (2021):

“The highly distinctive, bottle-fermented 2016 vintage (4.5*) is a ‘daring varietal blend’ of Merlot (61 per cent), Cabernet Franc (27 per cent) and Cabernet Sauvignon (12 per cent). Disgorged after more than four years aging on its yeast lees, it has straw/pale orange color, with a fragrant, yeasty bouquet. Full-bodied, it has loads of lively peachy, slightly toasty flavor, showing very good complexity, a dry feel (5 grams/litre of residual sugar), balanced acidity, and a harmonious, lingering finish. Well worth trying.”
