Here at Peacock Sky Vineyard, most of our people come from somewhere else, looking for some place inspiring to settle for a time and continue on their life’s learning path. We invest in our chefs, wine makers, tasters, servers, gardeners, cleaners and drivers who then bring their love and their life’s passions to us.
We are currently hiring for Summer 2019 with roles starting in September.
If you wish to apply to work for us, please don’t hesitate to send us your CV to firstname.lastname@example.org
When this gem, from Australia, found out about job opportunity in Peacock Sky Vineyard, she didn’t hesitate to apply. Now you’ll find her running our Cellar Door or doing tastings. It’s no wonder that Gemma gave up driving dump truck in the mines, because anyone doing one of her tastings will be able to see her passion for wine!
When not hiking or kayaking, you can find Gemma spending her free time visiting other wineries. It’s no surprise that her future plans are located with vineyards and wine making. Maybe one day we will see her making wines for Peacock Sky!
And what would this wine enthusiast recommend for guests coming to Peacock Sky Vineyard for lunch? Her favourite pairing is aromatic Pinot Gris and Green Curry Soup with tofu.
As she welcomes guests to Peacock Sky, this Scot definitely feels at home. If Fiona hadn’t followed her passion for hospitality, she might be working in one of her childhood dream jobs as a vet or an actress. Luckily for us, Fiona loves hospitality! We are happy to have her as part of the Peacock Sky team, with her passion for customer service!
When not working as our Office Manager, or entertaining our guests, you might find Fiona exploring different restaurants and bars on Waiheke Island. Turns out she already had some top tips from a friend back in Glasgow who is part of the Peacock Sky Staff Alumni!
And what would Fiona recommend for guests coming to Peacock Sky to have for lunch? Her favourite combo is the Sharing Platter with our 2014 Blanc de Noirs to share with a group of friends.
If Anaïs hadn’t followed her passion for food, she might have become an astronaut. From delicious steaks to beautiful desserts, there’s nothing that this “petite Chef” from Réunion Island can’t do. It’s no wonder that Anaïs’ plans for the future include having her own restaurant!
When not creating delicious food, you can find Anaïs walking at the beach or hiking around the Waiheke Island. You could say appreciating nature is one of Anaïs’s favourite things…right after cooking of course!
And what would Anaïs recommend for guests coming to Peacock Sky to have lunch? Her favourite combo is our Ricotta & Sundried Tomato Ravioli, enjoyed with 2014 Pure Malbec.
When Martin joined our team, he started as a dishwasher. In a short time, this Argentinian proved to be multi-skilled and that’s why he is now part of Peacock Sky’s kitchen team, bringing his knowledge of Argentinian and Italian food to New Zealand.
Martin is keen on soccer so you can find him out playing soccer or walking on the beach. He also loves dancing, so you might even see him rocking the dance floor Sunday nights at Malones, enjoying some Latin rhythms.
And what does Martin recommend for people having lunch at Peacock Sky? Because he doesn’t drink alcohol at all, he recommends a cold cup of milk enjoyed with some Signature criss-cut Westies.
Arriving on Waiheke with his partner Anaïs, Yoann has joined our close-knit Peacock Sky family as a server and taster, bringing a bit of French charm to our degustation wine tastings. Yoann loves the versatility of the job, and chance to learn new things about wine.
When not exploring new places or doing sunset walks on Waiheke Island, you might find Yoann taking photos, filming or riding a unicycle. It’s not a surprise that his future plans involve directing films!
And what would this four time Réunion Island Golf Champ recommend for guests coming to Peacock Sky Vineyard for lunch? His favourite pairing is 2014 Merlot Malbec and Sirloin.
When Virginia was looking at vineyards to work on Waiheke; she was looking for somewhere to escape the hustle & bustle of her home city, Buenos Aires. Now you can find her keeping service in our restaurant running smoothly, as well as enjoying the family atmosphere of Peacock Sky Vineyard.
When not on a long hike or meeting new people, you might find Virginia working on some of her childhood dreams of designing big buildings and writing a book, all whilst traveling around the world. Maybe one day we will have a chance to admire a new “Palacio Barolo” designed by Virginia!
And what does Virginia, our fantastic Argentinian, recommend to people having lunch in Peacock Sky? Her favourite is our Sirloin Steak with 2014 Pure Malbec (of course!).
Peacock Sky’s happy French girl “Andy” tells us that she followed a flock of peacocks all the way from Provence to New Zealand, and found her home here at Peacock Sky…if you don’t believe her, come visit us and take a vineyard tour with her, and she’ll tell you all about it! She has joined our team as a taster and loves working with wine, and a great group of people every day.
Since arriving in New Zealand she has been building on her already vast knowledge of wine, and sampling all that Waiheke has to offer. This will be sure to help in her pursuit of a career as a Wine Maker or Wine Tourism Manager.
Andréane’s favourite combo at Peacock Sky is a glass of our 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon with the famous, secret recipe Dark Chocolate Brownie.
Another French addition to Peacock Sky’s fun, multi-cultural team; Solène has been living in sunny Australia for the last couple of years and has now found her next home for a while on Waiheke. She has joined our team as a dishwasher and bartender, and her jokes and cheery personality keep us all laughing through the weekend!
Growing-up, Solène dreamed of becoming a paleontologist or a marine biologist, but for now she’s happy just living by ocean. So of course when she’s not working, you’ll find Solène doing any ocean-related activity, swimming, diving, and walking along the coast. If it’s raining, there’s always a good documentary to get stuck in to…accompanied by her famous carrot cakes, which she claims are “the best carrot cakes in the history of carrot cakes”!
Finally, the all-important question, what would Solène recommend to people coming to Peacock Sky? Our delicious 2014 Pure Malbec with a cheese platter.
Meet Sky, the owner of Peacock Sky Vineyard. Or at least how he likes to think.
Usually you can find Sky from the vineyard, hanging out around or begging for a belly rub.
And what does this cute Bordercollie recommend to doggie friends when they come to hang out at Peacock Sky? Sleeping under the table, with some refreshing water that Peacock Sky will provide when having four legged guests.
